Kells and Connor Primary is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, having opened in October, 1940.

A special anniversary concert was held in Connor Church Hall recently to mark the event which was attended by principals and members of staff, both past and present.

The programme included song, verse and musical items and a previous member of the teaching staff, Mrs Marie Mewha, spoke to the packed audience during the night.

Mrs Mewha was interviewed by her grandson Lewis who also compered the evening along with fellow pupil Ella McKay.

Mrs Mewha, who had served on the staff under all the previous principals, explained to the children how different school life was many years ago.

The school will next hold a Fair on June 10 when a large selection of photographs and other memorabilia will be on display.
