Students and teachers endured a rainy start last Tuesday in Silent Valley, County Down before the sun came out for the remainder of their trip.

A spokesperson for the school said: “The first day really tested the pupils, yet there was still energy for some fun and games at the campsite that night.

“Wednesday started with glorious sunshine and the waterproofs were all packed away. The pupils were even more motivated on the second day, with the end in sight and all thoughts turning to a nice hot shower and some takeaway upon their arrival home!

“It was great to see the groups working together to achieve a common goal and to see pupils encouraging others when it was clear that they were finding it tough at certain points.

“A great experience was had by all and it will be brilliant to see the whole group achieve their award in the near future.”
