Activities included a farm safety demonstration from the Health & Safety Executive NI; bug identification with NI Environment Agency and RSPB; a butterfly count with the local Biodiversity Officer Rachel Bain; storytelling with Ballymoney and Ballycastle libraries; arts, crafts; facepainting; tree planting; duck races and loads more.

Cllr Donal Cunningham, Chair of Moyle District Council said:”These eco champions, some as young as three, made a valiant and enthusiastic effort to clean up the village ahead of the Armoy Road Races. Armed with their litter pickers and rubbish bags they have cleaned the village and the River Bush from bridge to bridge.

“Projects like this ensure that the next generation will grow up to be more environmentally conscious. They have shown great example to the locals and I hope their efforts will be appreciated.’
