The ghostly goings-on attracted thousands of ghouls, goblins and witches, from throughout Northern Ireland, eager to enjoy the spooky shenanigans.

Pete Snodden from Cool FM kicked off the ghoulish goings-on at 6pm and the crowds were entertained by fire jugglers, stiltwalking samba band, the ghost train ride and Halloween crafts.

Children got their faces painted with ghoulish make up, entered the Halloween Grotto at their peril and were spooked out at the hair-raising villain show by Mr Hullabaloo.

Deputy Mayor of Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council, Councillor John Blair, was thrilled with the size of the crowd that turned out.

“We are delighted to be celebrating our 11th Halloween Spooktacular, which is jointly organised by Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council and Junction One,” Cllr. Blair said.
He added: “Year on year, this event attracts huge numbers into Antrim. Everyone has made such an effort this year with their Halloween costumes making the judging of the Fancy Dress competition extremely difficult.

“Special thanks must go to all the traders at Junction One and Antrim Forum for sponsoring the prizes.”

The highlight of the evening was a Flame Extravaganza by Luminosity who have appeared on prime time television, culminating in a dramatic fireworks display which lit up the night sky with a spectacle of colour.
