SLIDESHOW: Fun filled Gig ’n The Bann Festival

Portglenone was the place to be from September 3-6 when a fun-filled action-packed festival of music, song and dance took place in the village.

The cross-community Gig ’n The Bann has become one of the major markings on the summer festival calendar having built a reputation for offering an impressive line-up of top musicians and this year was no exception.

The programme included the usual mix of concerts, traditional music sessions and the Bard’n the Bann competition which features local writers.

There was also the opportunity to hear world class pipe bands at the Pipe ’n the Bann event which is usually one of the highlights of the festival and many people also pulled on their trainers for the popular Run ‘n the Bann 5k and fun run and walk.
