Slimming World groups climb in support of Epilepsy Action NI

MEMBERS of Maghaberry and Moira Slimming World groups are keeping fit and healthy while raising some vital funds for Epilepsy Action in memory of one of their members, Caroline Humpherson, who died in January.

Some of Caroline’s family and friends joined the Slimming World members recently in preparation for the big climb of Slieve Donard on May 26.

Jill Ellis the consultant at Slimming World Maghaberry and Moira said: “At Slimming World we encourage exercise or as we like to call it ‘body magic’, along with our healthy eating food optimising plan. Really the two go hand in hand for a healthy lifestyle and walking is wonderful exercise. Over the last number of years my groups have worked together on a number of walking challenges and this year even more members are getting involved as we are raising money for such a good local cause, Epilepsy Action, Northern Ireland.”

Jill continued: “We all have very fond memories of Caroline in our groups and its just wonderful to celebrate her life in this way. On Sunday we climbed the Cave Hill in Belfast, it was a beautiful if not very windy afternoon and when we reached the top we had spectacular views over Belfast. It’s a challenging walk and really good preparation for the Slieve Donard Climb. We were delighted to be joined by Carolines family and friends, who with their fundraising are going to make a real difference to the lives of others.”
