‘Slow’ coaches

NORTH Antrim DUP MLA Mervyn Storey has written to Translink asking why a train took “four hours” to get from Belfast to Ballymoney last Saturday.

Mr Storey said: “Having spoken to some of the passengers involved I am extremely concerned that it took this length of time for passengers to travel to Ballymoney. From what has been told to me the communication as to what was the problem and as to how it was being dealt with was unacceptable.

“I have now taken the issue up with Translink and intend to meet with them to ensure that we do not have a repeat of this incident.”

The Times contacted Translink for a comment on Monday but by the time of going to press there was no response.
