Small change for jobs

THERE has been a slight improvement in Craigavon's unemployment figures.

The number of people in Craigavon claiming unemployment benefit has fallen by half a percent in the past month.

This represents a total of 13 claimants finding jobs during March.

Latest figures show 2,221 men and 664 women registered as unemployed in the area.

In the past year the unemployment rate in Craigavon has risen by 28.2% which represents an extra 632 people claiming benefits.

A total of 195 people have been made redundant in the borough between March 2009 and March 2010.
