Small quantity of mephedrone found

When police searched a house they found a small bag of the drug mephedrone, Craigavon Magistrates Court heard last Wednesday.

Seamus Christopher McQuaid (38), Carnreagh, Craigavon, was given 60 hours community service for possession of mephedrone on December 14 last year.

A search was carried out at the defendant’s home and a small bag of white powder was found in the jacket pocket of a suit in a bedroom wardrobe. It was mephedrone valued at £30. Defence said McQuaid had not worn the suit for some time and had forgotten someone had given the drug to him.
