Sniffer dog Max helps cops seize drugs worth £3k

‘Max’ the sniffer dog has helped police in Coleraine to seize drugs with an estimated to value of over £3,000 in the last fortnight.

The policing team has released details of searches netting an estimated £2,100 worth of cannabis in the Heights area of Coleraine between 11 and 18 May.

Two men were arrested in connection with drugs finds and have been released on police bail as the investigation continues. In another operation, the neighbourhood policing team recovered cannabis with an estimated street value of over £2,300.

Inspector Ian Armour said: “Drugs misuse is clearly an issue of concern to communities and local officers have been working hard to take drugs off the streets of Coleraine.

“I would ask anyone who has any information in relation to illegal drugs, to contact Coleraine police on the new non-emergency number 101 or, alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
