So .. what do you do behind the wheel?

JUST get in the car and drive?

Well, most of us have another string to our bow.

According to a survey by insurance company Touchline, women drivers talk or sing to themselves on the way, but it’s male drivers who spend most time on the phone – 18% compared to just 6% of women.

Some 12% of drivers eat in the car, while 19% smoke – and 9% of male drivers admit to bad habits that could not be put on record!

Touchline’s Managing Director Sandy Dunn concedes that talking or singing may not be a major distraction, but the company is concerned about eating, smoking and using the phone.

“Less hands on the wheel reduces control of the car and, therefore, make these drivers an increased risk to other road users and pedestrians”.
