Visitors can browse for bargains at the white elephant and plants stalls, have fun with tombola and the rickety wheel and enjoy cakes and the ever-popular barbecue. The fete committee is grateful to Marty's Catering for the equipment, and to other local businesses for donations.

There will also be a colourful children's mini-fete boasting a kids’ tombola, bran tub, face painting, nail painting, children's sing-a-long and tuck shop.

Joining them will be new arrivals including a visit of the famous A-Team van from the cult TV series in the run-up to the soon-to-be released film remake, starring Liam Neeson.

Roger Thompson, rector of St Patrick’s, Cairncastle with All Saints’, Craigyhill, said: “I’ve always fancied myself as a bit of a Mr T – now I’ll finally get the chance to live my dream.”

Admission is 50p for adults, 30p for children.
