Social economy programme

Carrick Borough’s social economy is in line for a boost through an innovative education programme.

Council recently offered local people an opportunity to take part in the ‘Building Future Entrepreneurs through Social Economy Development Programme’.

A total of nine individuals took part in February and March to gain a qualification from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

The programme, council stated, was delivered to the up-and-coming entrepreneurs, allowing participants to gain an understanding in how to set up a business or to operate a social economy.

A ceremony was held in the Dobbs Room of the Town Hall on Monday, where Town Clerk Sheila McClelland, presented participants with certificates and computer tablets.
