Software course opportunity at college’s Lisburn campus

The South Eastern Regional College’s Lisburn campus is among those set to deliver a Professional Software Development course.

Starting in September, it is aimed at providing HND, degree or equivalent graduates in non-IT disciplines with the skills and experience required to take up opportunities in IT.

Applications for the 17-week programme of classroom-based learning must be submitted online to http://spc.mindmill.co.uk before 4pm next Wednesday, July 16. The selection process will include an online aptitude test to be completed by July 21.

Information sessions are scheduled for early August and verification testing sessions for mid-August. As well as at Lisburn, training for successful applicants will take place in Ballymena, Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Dungannon and Portadown.

During the course participants will be paid a weekly training allowance of £150 based on attendance.

SERC Principal and Chief Executive Ken Webb said: “I would encourage any unemployed graduate to consider a career in the vibrant and growing local ICT sector.”
