Solicitor hosts CAP Charity Evening

Local Solicitor Charlie Irwin hosted an evening for the Charity C.A.P (Christians Against Poverty) in Niki’s Barn at his Stranocum home last Friday evening.

The event was attended by local people and friends of CAP. Music was provided by Simon Irwin and “Andy Rogers and A Perfect Stone.

Charlie and his friends raised £1250 which will help to cover the costs of running the local centre.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national debt counselling charity working through a network of centres based in local churches.

CAP offers hope and a solution to anyone in debt through its unique, in-depth service. CAP aims to show God’s love in action by providing sustainable poverty relief through free debt counselling, advice and practical help.

The local CAP centre, based at Causeway Coast Vineyard has since it’s inception processed approx. £1million of personal debt incl secured loans, and are currently helping 44 families in Causeway Coast area.

David Kelly the local CAP Centre Manager says the the common causes of debt are relationship breakdowns, loss of income and changes in general circumstances.
