Money raised during the annual fundraiser will help transform the lives of local children, young people and adults in need of vital hospice care.

Sharon Gorman, the charity’s Donor Officer commented: “NI Hospice would like to extend sincere gratitude and appreciation to The Law Society, the 42 participating solicitors for their immense support and the people who kindly made a donation in lieu of a will making fee.

“NI Hospice cares for over 3,300 adults and children each year in Northern Ireland, both in the home and in the In Patient Units. With annual running costs of over £9million and limited government funding, we rely heavily on the support and generosity of the local community. Receiving £7,270 from Make a Will Fortnight will make a tremendous difference to the lives of hospice patients across the province.”

Richard Palmer, President of The Law Society added: “As Hospice’s charity partner we were delighted to support this initiative. Make a Will Fortnight reminded people of the importance of having an up-to-date will and it gave them an ideal opportunity to get their affairs in order whilst supporting ongoing hospice care.”
