Solution toroad flooding will aid pitch

In a statement, he said: “It had been brought to my attention that there was a large amount of surface water lying on the Cloughwater Rd just adjacent to the football pitch.

“This water was dangerous to road users but it was also flowing down onto the pitch and that corner wasn’t getting a chance to dry with the rest of the pitch making it very difficult for the council to maintain .

“I got TransportNI onto the case and they agreed to issue a works instruction to their Measured Term Contractor to place a gully on the road and lay approx 80metres of pipe using the grass behind the goals to lay it .

“Hopefully this will resolve both issues .”
