Sons of Zion make music for The Lord

THE Sons of Zion Praise Band was formed recently, made up of a number of talented musicians some of whom will be well known from other acts.

The band includes Waringstown man John Montgomery who plays the accordion, flute, trumpet and he is also the lead singer.

Coming from a showbusiness background (stage and TV) John said he realised his need for the Lord and now plays to glorify the Lord.

Gilbert McGarvey from Hillsborough plays the banjo and said he plays his instrumnets for the Lord to encourage and win soul’s for the Lord’s Kingdom.

Portadown’s Burt Hadden plays the accordion and keyboard, he recently joined the band. Previously he had played in dance bands until the age of 32 when he gave his heart to the Lord.

Eddie Chivers from Lisburn used to think being a Christian would be boring then one day 13 years ago he asked the Lord Jesus into his heart: “Only when you have Jesus living in you is when you have real joy and hope.”

David from Fivemiletown is the drummer and used to play with a band in pubs all over Northern Ireland and England. He was saved at a mission in Fivemiletown in 1995 and now plays music for the Lord.
