Sophie is poster girlfor city bike week

SOPHIE Heatherington of Eglinton Primary School will be able to take part in Bike Week 2012 in some style after receiving her prize of a new bike and cycling helmet from Mayor, Alderman Maurice Devenney, for her entry in the ‘Bike Week’ poster competition at the Council Offices.

Primary 6 pupils from across the Derry City Council area were invited to come up with an eye-catching design illustrating the theme of this year’s Bike Week which is “Everyday Cycling Everyday.”

Sophie’s striking and colourful design was selected from the large number of entries received and has been made into a poster to promote Bike Week 2012 which runs from Saturday, June 16 until Sunday, June 24 earning her a brand new bike and cycling helmet courtesy of Bike Week 2012 sponsors Claudy Cycles.
