The Ultimate Beauty Of UK & Ireland 2014 is a beauty pageant with a cause, and have raised over £21,000 for charity. This year they are supporting the ‘Make A Wish Foundation Charity’.

When Sorcha was asked to raise money for the ‘Make A Wish’ foundation she decided she wanted to learn more about the charity.

“Once I did my research I released how wonderful this charity is.

“I thought it would be great to raise awareness of it in our school, as it supports children who are terminally ill from the age of 3-17 years old. It grants magical wishes to these children and the charity will grant over 1,000 wishes this year. They aim to raise £7 million to do so.”

Sorcha invited charity representative Gail McKee into the College to speak at Junior Assembly on Friday May 2.

Sorcha has begun fundraising and added: “Even after the final of the pageant I will still try to raise money for Make-A-Wish as I think what they do is very special”.
