Soul Cafe returns

THE well established Soul Café returned last weekend to Drumreagh Church hall and kicked off with the theme 'Soul Café 2010' with the fantastic Christian band 'Inflame' on Friday night and 'Crave' playing on Saturday night.

There were testimonies from Stephen Crawford, former footballer and now with ‘Coaching for Christ’. Stephen spoke about what God has done for him during his life so far. Scott Mc Keown, lead singer with the Christian rock band Crave, testified on Saturday night about Jesus and his salvation and the many ways he has seen God move over the past years and his international rock ministry. Sunday night seen Drumreagh’s own Jonathan Boyd, a local talented musician, with a heart for God and worship sharing his testimony. Jonathan told how God has saved and kept him since he was 11 and has placed him in a worship ministry.

Sunday night found the main hall at capacity. Local Christian band Chapter Seven took the stage on Sunday night and led the worship to a standing crowd with many favourites being sang and raising the roof. Roy Walker, Ballymena United’s football manager and renowned youth speaker opened God’s word during the weekend and left no doubt in anyone’s mind as to which team to be on; the winning team; the only way to win is the way which is the truth and the life, the way of Jesus Christ. The weekend closed with some young people choosing the only Way and changing the course of their lives forever. As the team tidied up for the close of the first weekend of Soul Caf 2010, they gave thanks in prayer, a fitting praise to a God who loved us so much He sent His one and only Son to die for us so we could have eternal life, without whose presence Soul Caf 2010 would have been just another juice bar.
