South African Council visit
BALLYMONEY Consultation Committee has granted Council powers to settle arrangements for the visit by representatives from Tlokwe Council, South Africa.
The Chair, Cllr John Finlay, advised that a party of nine from Tlokwe City Council were visiting the borough 17-22 July to take part in the McArthur Celebrations in Dervock and Ballymoney, and would have the opportunity to attend the specially commissioned play (19th, torchlight procession and re-enactment (20th) and festival of running (21st). He recommended that Council host a Civic Reception on 18th July.
It was proposed by Cllr Evelyne Robinson and seconded by Cllr Anita Cavlan that committee, acting with Council powers, receive the delegation during their stay and host a Civic Reception on 18th July.
