Southern man robs Everglades at gunpoint

A man with a southern accent robbed the Everglades Hotel in Londonderry shortly after 6pm on Sunday (July 12).

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the armed robbery on the Prehen Road.

At around 6.05pm it was reported that an unknown male, carrying a suspected firearm, entered the premises and threatened staff before making off with a sum of cash.

The man is described as being aged in his 30s, with black coloured hair and thick greying stubble.

He had a southern accent and was wearing a black coloured hooded top and dark coloured jeans.

Detective Sergeant Brian Reid is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact Detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

He is particularly keen to speak with anyone who saw a white coloured Volkswagen Passat in the area of the hotel at the time of the robbery. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
