SPARK in Garvagh gets up and running

SPARK Garvagh got into action this week with young people engaged in a wide range of tasks in the community.

Local Rector Rev Paul Whittaker praised his team.

He said: “SPARK is a Christian service initiative by St Paul’s Church of Ireland parish, but is open to all Year 9 and older young people as part of the Derry and Raphoe mission transforming our community- radiating Christ”..

Rev Whittaker continued: “SPARK gathers local Christians together in the Garvagh area to practically serve God and radiate Christ’s love in a variety of ways, offering service such as free gardening, car washes, litter picks and late night youth events such as the Cornerstone acoustic café”.

Team leader Alice McFaul thanked the parents and Helen Livingston’s hard working catering team for all their kindness.

“It is wonderful to see genuine intergeneration relationships and get out there to witness to the transforming love of Christ”.

Alice concluded: “I would also wish to thank the local traders and shopkeepers for all their gifts of food and support.

“We couldn’t have done it without you guys.
