Spate of burglaries - police seek information

Police are appealing for information following a number of burglaries in the Ballymena area recently.

Sometime between 12.30am and 7am on Monday, February 29, the workshop of a house in the Drum Road area of Kells was broken into and three still saws, an angle grinder, a cordless drill, a number of spanners and some oil was stolen.

Between 10pm on Sunday 28 February and 6.30am on Monday, February 29, a number of power tools were stolen from two vans that were parked in the Tully Road area of Ballymena.

A jigsaw was taken from a shed in the Valley Road area of Kells, sometime between 1pm on Saturday, February 27, and 9am on Monday, February 29, while a leaf blower, a hedge trimmer and a drill were stolen from a garage in the Woodside Road area of Ballymena sometime between 5pm on Sunday, February 28 and 8.30am on Monday, February 29.

Constable Ruth Irvine said: “I would appeal to anyone who knows anything about these burglaries, or who noticed any suspicious activity in any of these areas, to contact Ballymena Police Station on the non-emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
