'Special energy' at Rasharkin St Patrick's Day parade

Hundreds of band and Ancient Order of the Hibernians (AOH) members congregated in Rasharkin, Co Antrim for yesterday's St Patrick's Day parade.

Extending his thanks to members of Antrim's AOH for hosting a "great St Patrick's Day parade", Tyrone president Gerry McGeough also commended the Tyrone Divisions and bands for their colourful and disciplined display which he said brought a "special energy" to the day.

He also thanked Gortrighey Division and Antrim AOH for hosting a great St Patrick's Day parade, which he said won widespread approval and support from all present.

Four new Tyrone divisions - Tuloch Óg, Greencastle Molly Maguires, St Joseph's Pro-Life Dungannon and Craobh na nGael, took part.

All of the bands that took part in the parade which began and ended in the chapel car park were Sons of Ireland, Feeney, Corran AOH Band, The O'Neill Clan, Rosnashane Accordion Band, Cloney Flute Band, Randalstown, Kinturk Band, Glenmaghera, Draperstown Accordion Band, Loup Flute Band, Ballinderry Flute Band, Desertmartin, Dungiven, Gortrighey, Brantry Pipe Band, Ardboe Central Flute Band, St Brigid's Accordion Band and Tullagh Oge.
