Special guests for Salvation Army Corps

The Salvation Army Symphonic Wind Ensemble (SASWE) will be making their first ever appearance in Ireland on Saturday and Sunday, August 25 and 26.

They will be performing a concert on Saturday, starting at 7.30pm, in the Salvation Army Hall in Union Street.

The Salvation Army is well known throughout the world for their high level of musicianship within their brass bands and Songster Brigades.

SASWE was established in September 1994 following an experimental rehearsal and debut concert at the Salvation Army Corps in Ilford in England. The musicians are made up of Salvationists, believers and friends from other Christian denominations throughout the mainland and meet three times a year.

They have performed in over 30 venues to date and the local Salvation Army Corps is very excited to be hosting SASWE’s first visit to Ireland.

Because of the uniqueness of the Salvation Army Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the Saturday evening concert promises to be well-supported within the Salvation Army itself and by other musical enthusiasts.

Donation tickets cost only £5 (£3 for under 16 years old) and are available to order (telephone 02838 323223) or pay at the door.

Sunday meetings at 11.15am and 3.30pm, led by visiting officers, Lieutenants David and Jennifer Gosling, will also feature SASWE.
