Speculation mounts over the future of The Coach

Generations of young people have flocked to the Coach over the years and speculation has been mounting that it could soon be the end of an era for the Coach Square venue.

The Coach has been one of the most successful and long running nightclubs in Northern Ireland, spanning over thirty years.

Over this time it has played host to bands such as Wet Wet Wet and also some of the worlds most famous DJs such as Tiesto, John Digweed, Eddie Halliwell, Eric Morillo. The list goes on.

However, regulars at the nightclub have been speculating that those days are now over as the Coach seeks a new owner.

Agents for the Coach have denied rumours that the venue is closing and uncertainty still surrounds who has bought it over.

John Martin of selling agents Osborne King told us no update was available and that recent rumours are “only rumours”.

However, the venue did appear to say goodbye to party-goers at New Year’s Eve.

Posting on their Facebook page, The Coach said: “Going to say our final farewells tonight, thank you lot for your support over the years.”

Revellers flocked to Banbridge to say their goodbyes.

The venue, which includes a restaurant, was put on the market in October last year by owners the Quinn family with a guide price of £975,000 – along with their other businesses Harry’s Bar at £475,000 and the £1.5m-priced Iveagh Movie Studios.

John Martin of selling agents Osborne King said: “The Coach has always done well in the past and is one of Northern Ireland’s premier nightclubs.”
