Speed ramps’ height queried

A LARNE councillor has questioned why some speed ramps in the town are higher than others.

Alderman Winston Fulton put the query to representatives from the Roads Service, who attended the latest monthly meeting of Larne Council to present this year’s Roads Report.

Ald Fulton said: “In terms of speed bumps, are they set at different heights for different roads? They seem to be much higher in some places than in others, such as Linn Road.”

Divisional roads manager Deidre Mackle responded: “A maximum height is set for speed ramps by Roads Service, but on rare occasions the contractors sometimes put them in too high. We will check out the ramps at Linn Road.”
