Speed ramps welcomed by Lower Ballinderry residents

Councillor Thomas Beckett had been campaigning for the traffic calming scheme for several years after he was contacted by local residents who were concerned by speeding cars.

Over 300 residents in the village gave their overwhelming support for the ramps.

Mr Beckett said: “It was clear that speed restrictions were not being adhered to and these measures will now reduce speed and accidents within the village thus providing a safe environment for everyone and in particular older villagers and school children who attend the village primary school.”
