Splash of the day at Raft Race 2010!

DESPITE some disappointing weather, the crowds were still out in force at the weekend for the annual raft race in Portush

Scores of local folk proved their hardiness on Saturday by splashing into the cold sea on the north coast to join in the fun at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution's annual raft race.

Almost 70 colourful home-made vessels braved the waters from the beautiful West Strand beach to battle for victory.
