A sponsored walk in aid of the Hospice takes place this Friday (September 6) around Lurgan Park.

Walkers are asked to meet at the cricket pavilion for a 7pm start.

Sponsor forms are available from Lurgan Library or people can make a donation on the night. Everyone is welcome.

Meanwhile local supporters of Leukaemia and Lymphoma NI will have a chance to raise money for the group with two sponsored walks next month.

The group, formerly the Northern Ireland Leukaemia Research Fund, will be holding a sponsored walk in Bangor on Saturday, October 5, and one in Londonderry on Saturday, October 12.

The Bangor walk will start from the McKee clock at the Pickie Park at 12 noon and go along the coastal route to Crawfordsburn and back again.

The following week in Londonderry the walk will start at 10am at St Columb’s Park and will include the two bridges.

Registration is £10 with no minimum sponsorship required and includes a sponsorship pack and free T-shirt.
