Spring Arts workshops come to town

There is an opportunity to get the creative juices flowing when Banbridge Spring Arts prepares a packed palette of artistic activities and adult workshops from Tuesday 26 to Saturday 30 May.

The workshops commence in Banbridge Leisure Centre on Wednesday 27 May from 6pm – 9pm with a Felt Brooch making. Tutor Liz Nicholls will bring you through all the techniques needed.

On Thursday 28 May from 6 – 10pm at the Old Town Hall, Banbridge, tutors from Salvage NI will be teaching you how to transform an old pair of shoes into something spectacular.

The ceramic workshop with Trevor Woods from Mount Ida Pottery, takes place on Friday 29 May in the Old Town Hall, Banbridge from 10am – 12.30pm. You will have the opportunity to create an elegant earthstone clay piece. Romaine Hodgen from Flowerworks will help you create a contemporary spring flower arrangement using a wide range of fresh flowers on Friday 29 May at 6.30 – 9pm in the Old Town Hall, Banbridge.

Design and make your own handcrafted piece of silver jewellery with tutor Mary Murphy on Saturday 30 May from 10am – 4pm in the Old Town Hall.

Also on Saturday 30 May, the railings at the Old Town Hall, Banbridge will be transformed into a blaze of creative colour when local artists will be displaying their wares in an Art on the Rails event from 10am – 5pm.

The Pop Up arts shop will open its doors in Newry Street, Banbridge on Tuesday 26 May until Friday 10 July 2015 offering a wide variety of arts activities including workshops, exhibitions and music sessions organized by Big Telly Theatre Company in conjunction with local community groups from across the district.
