Spring Chicken focus for Age Week

The public is being asked to time out to celebrate the creative contribution of older people in Portstewart, as they take centre stage during the upcoming Celebration of Age week, which runs from March 4-8.

Organised by the Arts Council, the weeklong Celebration of Age will include a number of free exhibitions, art workshops and performances by older people around Northern Ireland, with the aim of highlighting some of the success of the Arts & Older People Programme developed by Arts Council and Atlantic Philanthropies – a programme designed to help older people access and participate in the arts. Spring Chickens will host a drama and storytelling workshop with Big Telly Theatre Company at The Box on Portstewart Promenade, 11am-1pm on Tuesday, March 5.

Bob Collins Chairman of the Arts Council said: “I would encourage everyone, of all ages, to go along to an event near them”.
