Spring into March with a charity abseil challenge

THE Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice is looking for people with a spring in their step to join them for their first ever abseil over the Dromore Viaduct on Saturday 3rd March.

The prominent Viaduct that once carried the GNRI railway line from Dromore to Banbridge/Newcastle across the River Lagan will provide a breath-taking and scenic challenge as participants drop over 74 feet.

Fundraiser for NI Children’s Hospice, Karen Dunlop said: “I would encourage anyone with a spring in their step and an eye for a challenge in 2012, to sign up and join Children’s Hospice for this special event.

“The height of the viaduct also makes this a suitable challenge for anyone who has never abseiled before!

Participants will be taken through all aspects of the abseil by experienced instructors and will be part of an event full of excitement and great team spirit.

“Children’s Hospice overwhelmingly relies on the support and generosity of the public and we urgently need that support more than ever.

Caring is at the heart of everything we do and we would urge brave individuals to show they care too by donning their helmet and harness and stepping over this notable local landmark.”
