St Brides Street assault

It is reported that at approximately 5.30pm, a 34-year-old man was approached and attacked by an unknown male with a baseball bat at the rear of commercial premises.

The man sustained leg and head injuries and was taken by ambulance to hospital; his injuries are not thought to be life threatening at this time.

Police would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact detectives at Newtownabbey on 0845 600 8000.
