St Brigid’s PS Trocaire collection raises over £1,000!

THIS year’s annual Trócaire collection in St. Brigid’s Primary School, Ballymoney came to a fantastic £1114.26.

The Ballymoney children were very creative in their fundraising efforts this Lent. Events organised for Trócaire included a Green Day for the St. Patrick’s Holiday; cake sales in P1 and P2; greeting cards designed by Y5 and inspired by the artist VanGogh; Mad Hair Day and an Easter Egg Raffle organised by the girls in P6. Pupils from all of the year groups also made daily contributions to the Trócaire boxes in their classrooms.

As well as raising money for Trócaire, pupils studied developing world issues as part of the World Around Us curriculum (science, geography and history).

This year Trócaire focused on the country of India and the children in P7 studied the Irish Famine as part of their history work.
