St Brigid’s welcomes pupils’ grandparents

MORE than 140 grandparents spent a very enjoyable morning at St Brigid’s Primary School on Friday.

The event was organised as part of the school’s celebrations during Catholic Schools’ Week which ran from Monday to Friday.

During a special assembly those present heard thoughts on grandparents from each year group in the school and listened to the school choir.

A special ‘big screen’ production brought the thoughts of many more pupils to all in attendance as messages and pupils artwork was displayed.

Speaking during the event school vice-principal, Mr. Kieran Killough commented: “We began our week of celebration with our Annual St Brigid’s day Mass in All Saints’ Church and ended it with today’s event.

“The pupils have really been looking forward to welcoming their grandparents to the school and each child has produced a special piece of writing to commemorate the visit,” he added.
