St Colmcille's revved up for podium finish

ST COLMCILLE'S Primary school have received great support in their bid to make the podium in this year's "F1 in schools" challenge, from All-Tex Recyclers.

Formula one in schools is a global educational programme which raises awareness of Formula One among students and school children in every region, in every country, on every continent. Spanning age ranges of 9 to19 the aim of the scheme is to change perceptions of engineering, science and technology in a creative environment for young people to develop an informed view about careers in engineering, science, marketing and technology.

This is the first Year St. Colmcille’s participated in the challenge and before they even began the Year 7 students had to secure sponsorship to plan, design and make a formula one bloodhound model car. Support was secured from locally based, All-Tex Recyclers who as a textile recycling and export company with many worldwide partners depends on skills such as engineering, entrepreneurship, marketing and technological advancements to ensure success in the global market.
