There is a distinct diversity to the worship planned for St Columb’s Cathedral this Sunday, for the Festival of Pentecost or Whitsunday.

Services begin at 9am with traditional Holy Communion, ,celebrated by the Dean of Derry, the Very Rev Dr William Morton, assisted by Mr Nigel Cairns who has been accepted for training for ordination and will commence his course in The Church of Ireland Theological Institute in Dublin in September.

Choral Eucharist will follow at 11am. The Celebrant will be the Dean, and the preacher, the Reverend Canon John Merrick, Pastoral Assistant. This service is also the annual service of The Friends of St Columb’s Cathedral.

The Governor of The Honourable The Irish Society, Alderman Ian Luder, and some members of the Society will be present for their official Visitation to the Cathedral on Sunday at 4pm for the service of Choral Evensong.

The Cathedral Choir, directed by Ian Mills, Organist & Master of the Choristers, will sing at the 11am and 4pm services. All visitors welcome.
