St Patrick’s bids farewell to Patricia after 34 years

ON Thursday, June 30, staff and pupils at St Patrick’s Academy will be bidding a fond farewell to Mrs Patricia Connolly, Executive Officer, who is retiring following thirty two and a half years of loyal service at the school.

During her career, which began in December 1978, Mrs Connolly has witnessed monumental changes; to staffing, to the local community and to education.

She has worked alongside three principals, seen second generations of families through the school and enjoyed numerous Christmas parties. She has always greeted staff, pupils and visitors with a friendly smile and will be greatly missed by all.

Mrs Connolly said she was looking forward to pursuing more leisurely activities, including spending more time with her young grandchildren.

She said: “I have really enjoyed being part of the St Patrick’s community, with both my colleagues and all the pupils. I have watched the school grow from strength to strength, from its early days to its current status as an Academy. I would like to wish Dr Quinn, the staff and the pupils every success for the future.”

St Patrick’s staff would like to thank Mrs Connolly for her hard work over the years and wish her the best of luck on her prolonged vacation.
