Staff get set for Workout at Work

STAFF at advance physiotherapy & sports injury clinic in Longstone Street are getting active alongside thousands of otherworkers nationwide on June 19 as part of Workout at Work Day.

The initiative, which has been organised by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) aims to encourage employees to avoid the poor work habits which can cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) or stress andinstead to take more exercise. The day also highlights to employers the benefits of having a fitter and healthier workforce.

Advance physiotherapy &sports injury clinic staff will be offering taster pilates sessions. These short classes will be running every half hour from 12.00 to 2pm.

They will be joined by thousands of other people across the UK, who are taking a break from their work for a healthier, more productive life.

Patricia McCarroll of the local firm said: “Workout at Work Day is a fun way for us to show our commitment to creating a healthy, happy workforceand hopefully will help to encourage workers to take up a more active lifestyle.”
