Star pupil Kathy in NI top three for A-Level chemistry

A FORMER St Killian’s student has been awarded third place in Chemistry in the NI A-Level examinations taken in June.

Kathy Delargy achieved an A* in Chemistry, complemented by two more A* grades in Maths and Biology – as well as a Grade A in Spanish.

Kathy has just started her university career, reading Environmental Studies in Cambridge.

St Killian’s principal Mr Jonny Brady was delighted with the award.

“I congratulate Kathy on this outstanding achievement. Kathy is a credit to herself, her family and her school and thoroughly deserves this high accolade. She was a very committed student and, with the help of her teachers, she certainly reached her potential during her time with us in St Killian’s. I wish her every success in higher education studies in Cambridge.”

Dr Jonathan Huddleston, Head of Science and Chemistry, added to the congratulations: “This is a fantastic achievement for a hard-working and dedicated student who was a pleasure to teach. She will act as an inspiration to those who follow in her footsteps and choose Chemistry at A-level in St Killian’s.”
