Star role for Robert

A man well known to the Lisburn City business community is returning to a hands-on role in Ulster Star advertising.

Robert Abraham began his journey in Morton Newspapers’ advertising department right here at the Star some 30 years ago.

In the decades since, he has navigated a career path from entry-level advertising representative to his current role and responsibilities as Regional Advertising Manager under parent company Johnston Publishing.

As well as overseeing the recently launched multimedia platform that is Belfast Vibe, Robert has managerial responsibility for the Belfast Newsletter, Ballymena Times and Larne Times series, not forgetting, of course, Lisburn’s own weekly newspaper.

“This is my third spell with direct involvement at the Star,” said Robert.

“I was advertising manager at the title for more than six years in the late 1990s and early 2000s.”

A native of nearby Dromore, Robert brings to bear a great deal of local knowledge as well as a wealth of wider experience accumulated during a career in which he has worked on each of Morton Newspapers’ many province-spanning titles, managing the advertising department in all but one.

“I am delighted,” he said, “to be back in Lisburn to oversee the operation of local advertising.

“I look forward to being closely involved in this marvellous city.”
