Starbucks theft charge is denied

A BALLYMENA man is denying stealing more than £1,000 from his employers, the local Magistrates Court was told.

James Docherty (39), of Princes Street, is accused of the theft of 1,420 or thereabouts from Starbucks on March 30 last year.

Solicitor Colm McElhenny said Docherty is contesting the charge and a date of March 8 was set for the hearing.

District Judge Des Perry acknowledged that it was a “breach of trust” case.
