Started shouting in street

A young Waringstown man was given 120 hours community service when he appeared last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Stefan Farrell (20), Mill Hill Mews, admitted an offence of disorderly behaviour on January 26 this year.

The court heard that at 1.45am in Mandeville Street, Portadown, the defendant was seen walking in the middle of the road talking on his mobile.

When asked by police to move off he said: “F—k off, you b—d.”

He started shouting and swearing in the street and when friends arrived he tried to push past police. He continued to shout expletives and had to be arrested.

Mr Gabriel Ingram, representing the defendant, said Farrell was settling down at the moment and behaving himself.
