Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister
“I would like to thank the voters across Northern Ireland who put their faith in TUV on Thursday. Your support is greatly appreciated.
“I congratulate the party’s candidates and members across the country who ran such professional and enthusiastic campaigns.
“While the results were not as favourable for TUV as we would have wished we always knew that winning Westminster seats was a big ask for us. This year’s poll was always about laying the groundwork for the 2016 election. It is clear from the doorsteps that there is widespread discontent with Stormont therefore next year’s Assembly elections will present a better opportunity for us to make headway.”
