Stay vigilant, councillors warn

WARINGSTOWN residents should be vigilant in the run-up to Christmas, Craigavon councillors have said.

The warning comes after burglars stole a sum of cash and a video recorder from a house on the Dunkirk Road on Sunday, November 27.

Speaking at Monday night’s monthly meeting of Craigavon Borough Council, Alderman Stephen Moutray said: “I would warn people, especially the elderly, to remain vigilant.

“I urge people to keep their eyes open for their elderly neighbours, who can be especially vulnerable at this time of the year.”

Speaking after the meeting, Cllr Jo-Anne Dobson called on people to contact the police if they witnessed any sort of suspicious activity.

People need to be careful at this time of the year, and I would ask people to keep an eye out for others,” she said.
