The event also saw some unlikely additions to the Irish Dancing team from Claddagh School of Irish Dance, with Millbrook Community chairman John Shannon, local Cllr. Paul Reid and Ballymena councillor Reuben Glover making brave efforts to keep in step.

It may have taken some persistent persuasion from the audience, but their contribution added to Friday evening’s entertainment and they received a well-deserved round of applause.

There was also music and entertainment from the Music Yard in Larne, with impressive contributions from Thomas Hamilton and his pupils.

The event was opened by Cllr Gregg McKeen.

Dr. David Hume got the evening underway with a look at the life and times of St. Patrick as well as the legacy of others such as St. Comgall of Magheramorne.

The event was opened by Cllr. Gregg McKeen, and following the entertainment Irish stew and apple tart was served up by members of the community group.
