On Saturday night, Steven was remembered by the packed attendance at the Black Tie dinner which was organised by his fiancee, Kathryn Gillen, her dad Trevor, and her friends, Nicola Kennedy, Lyndsay Kennedy and Nicky Duff.
The evening featured Ian McIlrath as master of ceremonies, guest speakers - Joe Passmore of CRY, Ballymena and Irish rugby International Trevor Ringland, and Carl Monteith of Coleraine Rugby Club, and also included a fund raising auction and raffle.
Speaking to The Times yesterday (Monday), co-organiser of the night and former Ballymena RFC chairman, Trevor Gillen said that while the final total wasn’t yet known, it was expected to be in the region of £5,000.
